We invite excellent cosplayers to join in our interviews. In this case, cosplay fans can better know them and also learn from their experience. So, did the Alichino Myobi cosplay posted on Sep. 14 also make you feel surprised too? That cosplay girl is the best Alichino Myobi cosplayers I have ever seen. White hair with red flowers ideally flatters her white skin tone. Red clothes make her seem rather exotic and overwhelmingly appealing. If you also think so, you must be delighted because this girl, known as Seranaide on DA, accepts our interview today. Below you can better know her.
1. Please introduce yourself first.
I’m an Italian cosplayer with the passion for detailed dresses and trouble. I always try to put my heart in what I do, because I believe that it’s the first thing that gets noticed when you show your cosplay to the others. For the rest, I think I’m just a very lucky girl.
2. What does cosplay mean to you?
Cosplay is a very important chapter in my life. Before taking up cosplay, I didn’t care about myself that much, so I think everybody thought of me as the typical geeky, weak plain-looking girl. I picked up cosplay because of a bet with my friend, and since that day I tried to improve myself both in looks and skill. I was very proud of myself for succeeding in something I liked for the first time! My family was very glad about this original hobby too…and lots of people around me were excited about the idea of having a “special” actor/tailor as a friend ^_^
3. What and when was your first cosplay?
My first cosplay was Lenalee from D.Gray-man, but both its photos and its debut date are a secret. If anybody finds those photos, I’m afraid they will end up in a fail cosplay blog…
4. What is your most memorable cosplay experience?
When a little girl hand-in-hand with her mother pointed at me and said “Oh! A princess!”. I waved at her and bowed in front of the two. As I was walking away, I heard the little girl saying: “Mum, do princesses go to the seaside too?” (I was wearing my Lenalee black dress at a summer convention XD)
5. What’s your favorite photo shoot?
My most recent one, named Traditional Azrael. It features Kaito in his setsugetsuka version, and although it’s not a super-insanely-complicated dress, I’m quite proud of the result because we managed to do a great photoshot, using a large variety of objects to make the “contour” of the photo. I really, sincerely, desperately wanted to send my love poems to Len right after the photoshot…I think I got in chara too much!
6. What’s your favorite anime/manga/game character to cosplay as?
I think I fit young ladies and boys more, and especially dollish characters such as Myoubi. I see all the characters I choose to cosplay as “friends”, and sometimes even “sons” ^_^ and just like a mother couldn’t choose her favorite child among her sons, I couldn’t ever choose my favorite character out of all the ones I’ve cosplayed.
7. Any cosplay plan in future?
I want to cosplay as Michael from Angel Sancuary and the Throne elf from Lineage 2. It will be fun!
8. Do you make your costumes yourself or buy them?
I make all my costumes, sometimes I get helped by my grand-mother or my friends. What’s really weird about me is that I tend to enslave everybody who’s so unlucky to pass by for little works. Even the postman.
9. Any other cosplayers you like?
Kaname, Kaikida, GundamFamiglia, Yuegene…Nadia Baiardi, Francesca Dani…and many others!
10. Do some changes happen to you after cosplay?
I feel prettier and more self-confident indeed. I also feel I met a lot of great people that otherwise I wouldn’t have ever met without this strong passion. I feel very tired sometimes, but after I look back to what I’ve done, I smile. I wish I can continue cosplaying as I’ve done until now.
11. Any advice you wanna share with cosplay newbies?
Be what you wanna be, whoever you wanna be. Just open your heart and try your best, and more importantly try to understand your character from the deep of his/her soul…this is the key for a great cosplay! ^_^
