My name is Allison, I have been cosplaying since 2005. My friend wanted to dress up as a character from a video game for Halloween and dragged me into it. She then found out about anime conventions and convinced me to wear our Halloween costumes to the con. I was instantly addicted to cosplay after that. I’m not a very talented cosplayer when it comes to sewing but I always try my best to represent the character well.

Here’s a simple interview:
Q: How did you know our contest? And how much have you known about Miccostumes.com?
A: I found out about this contest through Facebook, someone invited me to join so I did. I didn’t know much about Miccostumes till this contest.
Q: Is Bleach cosplay your favorite theme? Which character from Bleach do you most like? Is the costume for this character covered here or in our store?
A: Bleach is defiantly one of my favorite cosplays themes. The great thing about this show are the many cosplay options. Most character have more then one outfit and there are so many awesome character to choose from. Rukia is my most favorite character from Bleach, I love her die hard attitude and the fact that she doesn’t quite. Though my favorite parts are when she’s bickering/beating up Ichigo. The costume I choose to cosplay Rukia with is your standard Shinigami robes and that costume is listed on Miccostumes.
Q: What’s your first cosplay? How do you think about it? Is there any photo shared with us?
A: My fist cosplay that my friend got me to do was Paine from Final Fantasy X-2. It was absolutely terrible and fell apart on me while I was wearing it. I will never post a picture of it anywhere its so bad.
Q: Is there any cosplay plan recently? Or which cosplay convention are you interested in taking part in?
A: Hopefully for MegaCon in Orlando I can get either San from Princess Mononoke or Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind done. I just got a full time job so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish on time.
Q: How long will you continue to do cosplay? Or do you think you will do it all the time? What does cosplay mean to you? Is there any element rather attractive for you?
A: I believe I will continue to cosplay till I no longer have the time for it, hopefully that wont be for many years or never. I love cosplaying, I take is as a bit of acting because its one thing to look the part it’s quite another to pull off the part. I also love seeing anything that is not real turned to real life. I’d have to say being able to be someone different for a day, interacting and socializing with people and the awesome pictures that come after shoots are my favorite parts of cosplaying.
Q: We will be interested to know the most memorable moment you got during cosplay.
A: Gosh there are so many I just can think of them all. One I remember and still love to talk about is this time at a photoshoot where the photographer asked me(dressed as Rukia) and an Ichigo cosplay to act like we were arguing. At one point of our mock argument, the Ichigo cosplayer started poking me in the head. I grabbed his finger and bent it back, causing him to drop down to his knee in pain. It was so funny because it played out like how it would in the show. Everyone was laughing and joking about it for hours after. The pictures were funny too. ^-^
Q: It’s believed our cosplay fans will be grateful if you can share us with your experience in this performance art. What’s the most important aspect for a cosplay beginner?
A: For a beginner I’d say to have fun and don’t be shy, do a character you know you can pull off(though don’t be afraid to try something new) and most importantly act like the character. If your character is happy, act happy. If your character is a tuff guy, act like it, though don’t be rude. Also study the character and try posing and acting out stuff in a mirror. It will look awesome in any photos people take of you. Also pay attention to little details; an example would be if you have to wear glasses but your character doesn’t, if someone wants to take your picture take the glasses off and put them in your pocket or something. Sometimes the little detail are what make costumes awesome.
Q: Do your family members support you? Do you often talk about your cosplay works with them? Do they also love what you’ve done?
A: My family doesn’t really care about my cosplaying. My mom thinks its silly and I’ll sometimes get made fun of because of it, but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t often share my cosplay works with my family unless I need help making something
