Self-introduction of the Cosplayers My girlfriend told me to write in the introduction: "I love her so much!" Guess that is the most important thing about us. Apart from that we are 26 and 22 years old, still university students, are a couple for a little over a year and share a flat in a small town in Germany.

Nightrunner is an amazing fantasy book series by Lynn Flewelling, and really special to us, since we got to know each other because of these books. We got in contact because we both liked it, and immediately planned to cosplay this couple. Finally we were able to sew the costumes and they mean so much to us!

Q: How did you know this contest? Is it easy to join in or do you have any advice for it? Since there will be many other contests held here, which theme do you most expect to see later?

We found about this contest on DeviantArt, we’d like to see more contests possibly based on different seasons, events etc.

Q: What’s your favorite cosplay theme? And what’s your best cosplay performance?

War because most war outfits are really cool!! Mina has done Miku Eager Love Revenge version @ Hyper Japan 2011 on stage before (photo here)

Q: What do you think about cosplay? Share us something good and bad on this performance art in your opinion.

Changed our lives completely – it means a lot to us and we dedicate most our time on it!
You can display the character in real life, you are the character and therefore you can express the emotions the character has. The character you cosplay must be someone you love, that’s what we think – so you would want to portray the character well! You don’t need to be yourself but be the character and this will give a lot of people we think more confidence. We think the only bad thing in cosplay is the expense.. It is a VERY expensive hobby!

Q: We will be interested in knowing some difficulties you met while cosplay. And how did you overcome them?

We think making the costumes itself, so far we never used patterns while making costumes so it is difficult and often make a lot of mistakes, but if you just keep trying – eventually you’ll get it right ! But sometimes costumes are very easy and you can just buy the clothes! Also we think make up – we spend a lot of time doing make up as we believe we’re full of flaws unlike the character so we must look like them by using lots of make up for e.g. better skin, bigger eyes, sharper face etc. looking at other cosplayers make up helps a lot too. Making props are usually difficult too, but it’s fun so we finish it quick! Also lots of encouragement from friends supports us always!

Edward and Marygail get to be together at last cosplaying as the college sweethearts Feenie & Dollie at Sac-Anime Winter 2012. With busy schedules and living almost 100 miles away from each other, they only get to spend time together by going to conventions. Since they don’t get to see each other often, they make the most of their time together at conventions and cosplaying. Cosplaying is one of the things that brought them closer together.

Me and Miku are partner in real like in cosplay’s world, and i really love her. We share a lot of passion togheter like: singing, musical tastes, anime and manga, and some other things starting from a few books, films to get to: cosplay, type of mentality and also to the way to live our situation.
We started doing cosplay as a couple since 2010 with a simple version of Hansel and Gretel from Black Lagoon to arrive at Sound Horizon Kingdom. We loves all of our cosplay and we hope to stay togheter

Q: How did you know this contest? Is it easy to join in or do you have any advice for it? Since there will be many other contests held here, which theme do you most expect to see later?

i found this contest thanks to miku. She has passed it to me from messenger. At first it seems to be more difficult, but it wasn’t! So, other themes? I hope for Uta No☆prince-sama♪ and also some of Sound Horizon!

Q: What’s your favorite cosplay theme? And what’s your best cosplay performance?

My favourite cosplay isn’t so simple to decide, there are three at the same position (those of photos) but i more loved doing Schneewittchen and Tettere, she was too cute her smile ♥.
Our best cosplay performance was with Marchen and Elyse, every person, who saw us, made lots of photos or video. We were excited!

Q: What do you think about cosplay? Share us something good and bad on this performance art in your opinion.

Cosplay is a passion. When you start doing it, you feel in another world. You hear a flux of human minds, a swirl of voices who talk about something you know! You feel part of another society. You feel good and full of energy, for doing whatever you want and personify your character with the best smile you can show

Q: We will be interested in knowing some difficulties you met while cosplay. And how did you overcome them?

Doing cosplay is normal to meet some inconvenience or difficulties. The only thing you can do is modify the imperfect part in the better way you can. For me is not difficult, my girlfriend can sew and modify the wrong part of one of our dress. We always hope to not have problems!With this dresses we had lots of trouble, specific with the trousers. But they are good now.

We are Ludo (aka Erendrym) and Sophie (aka Lyel), cosplay partners, and lovers for a little more than 3 years.
Ludo is a cosplayer since 2005, and Lyel since 2007. We share an appartment in Paris.
We love cosplaying together, as lovers, friends or antagonists. We’re doing our costumes ourselves, since we both love sewing and working on armors / props. That’s why our living room often looks like a costume workshop ^^

Q: How did you know this contest? Is it easy to join in or do you have any advice for it? Since there will be many other contests held here, which theme do you most expect to see later?

We found this contest thanks to Elena who posted the link on Facebook. The subscription is really easy since all is well explained. We’ll look forward for other contests, perhaps some contests about popular series such as Final Fantasy or One Piece would be great !

Q: What’s your favorite cosplay theme? And what’s your best cosplay performance?

We don’t really have a favorite theme, but we’re mostly cosplaying manga/anime characters, and a lot of videogame characters too. Basically, it’s more about what we really like that where it comes from 🙂
Our best performance was probably Shibo and Killy from Blame! for the French WCS prelims in 2009. Our skit as Aurora and Philip from The Sleeping Beauty last year was a really cute moment too

Q: What do you think about cosplay? Share us something good and bad on this performance art in your opinion.

What is good about cosplay is that it requires lot of creativity. It mixes sewing, painting, props crafting, and some acting for the photoshoots or stage performances. It’s a really complete hobby.
The bad thing about is that it’s sooooo time & money consuming 😀 We’ll never be able to cosplay all the characters we want to do !

Q: We will be interested in knowing some difficulties you met while cosplay. And how did you overcome them?
Difficulties are often there when you try to use some new materials and techniques. When we try something new, we often ask for advice from other cosplayers who are more used to those stuff, and when we can help these friends in return, we are happy to do it. Cosplay is about sharing things too 🙂
