DIY Tutorial for Hoozuki Sama’s Spiked Club Cosplay Prop

To cosplay as Hoozuki Sama, the spiked bat in his hand is a highlight.

It is difficult to make the whole bat shape, so it would be easier to start with a similar thing. I suggest you buy a plastic bat.

Material: vinyl bat, fibreboard(thickness 2mm and 5mm), office paper, newspaper,  artificial leather(brown and black), plastic capsule(half), cone foam board(20), plastic goldfish scooping net, string(purple), double side tape, gum tape, G10 glue, glue, cutter, scissors.

0

01. Make the main body
Use the plastic bat as a base, wrap a 5mm fibreboard(same size as the plastic capsule) with G10 glue at the front end of the bat. In order to make it bigger and bigger from the tail to the front, the middle and the tail end of the bat also need to be wrapped with fibreboard.

1

Fill the interspace with newspaper and wrap the whole bat with office paper, and use gum tape to fix. Then apply G10 glue on the office paper and stick on 5mm fibreboard.

1-1

In order to make it stick firmly, you can also apply G10 on the fibreboard and wait till it is dry. Cut 5 holes in a line in four directions on the front end of the bat, remove the extra parts.

1-2

02. Make spikes
Use cone foam board to make the spikes. Please note you can not use G10 glue here. You need to wrap the spikes with double side tape and then black artificial leather on the top. Make 20 spikes in such way. (Note: the diameter should be the same as the hole we cat before)

2

03. Make the loop part at the tail end
Cut two pieces of 3mm fibreboard about the same size as the plastic goldfish scooping net, put the net in between the boards and then stick them together. Wrap it with black artificial leather, insert it into the tail end of the bat and fix with glue.

3

04. Roll up the artificial leather
Apply G10 glue to the upper part of the bat and the black artificial leather, wrap the leather around the bat. Press slightly when comes to the holes. Do the same with the bottom part but using brown artificial leather. (Note: The width of the artificial leather is about 5cm)

4

05. Stick the spikes
Cut the leather above the holes and flatten, then stick the spikes we made earlier into the holes.

5

Tie the purple string to the loop at the tail end. And we’re done!

end

It is light so that you can wield it.

Attack on Titan Cosplay Prop 3D Maneuver Gear Anime Version with Tutorial

Finally we’ve got the Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)

three dimensional maneuver gear,

(also called Vertical Maneuvering Equipment )

So excited~! o(≧v≦)o~~ Suteki~~~

AOT_A_9

What is a “three-dimensional maneuver”,

and how is it special or effective against the Titans?

Here’s a template with specific explanation.

F3YCc

If you’re so confused looking at the image above,

I suggest you go watch the Attack on Titan Animation.

As a cosplayer, three dimensional maneuver gear is essential to

make your cosplay perfect, no matter which character

you’re going to be and which legion you’re in.

Sure Recon Corps (Scouting/Survey Legion) use them more often.

Thanks to the “Currently Disclosable Information ”,

(so considerate!)

making belt prop and DIY the device become less difficult.

It’s a pity that I’m a girl without ingenuity so I cannot

make cosplay props, not to say such a complicated one.

If you’re determined to create one by yourself,

here’re some tutorials you may be able to use:

And if you’re not satisfied with just a prop for cosplay,

check the end of this article for a real one!

Someone joked that

“you can build a plane with the time of making a 3DMG”

First of all, imo the best of our 3DMG is the material.

People tends to use EVA to make all kinds of pros,

it’s cheap, light, easy to cut, but it gets bumpy easily

and it wouldn’t look so real with metallic gloss.

Of course you can use metal but that would be too heavy.

The one we have now is made of PVC and PMMAwhich weighs about 5kg.

[I don’t think I can walk with real metal 3DMG on. (─.─|||) ]

Some tools involved in the apparatus include (Whether our 3DMG has):

  1. Handgrips (Yes)
  2. Piston-shot grapple-hooks (Yes but no hook)
  3. Gas powered mechanism (Yes)
  4. Iron Wire Propeller with Plug in Blades (Yes)
