I’m a 21 years old cosplayer from Norway. Anime and manga is part of my life and will always be. Kuroshitsuji is one of my favourite manga’s. Still waiting for next chapter every month and I can’t get away from cosplaying Sebastian yet. His character is interesting and I’m not gonna lie and say I hate being him with all the Ciel’s around that I can trick and twist the orders of. Been cosplaying him on almost every con the 3 last years or so, first time was unfinished cosplay and on a small con/meetup in my hometown, sadly I didn’t have a Ciel there, So I was all alone, though Ranmao was there too, so at least not the only KuroShitsuji freak. My plan is to get this cosplay upgraded, which means making it from scratch myself. But I haven’t had the time and energy yet, as for now I am working on Demon Sebastian cosplay that will be used in September. Except this one all my cosplay have been home made, but close to the first proper con I was cosplaying Sebastian I had to admit defeat when I had more cosplays to finish and I decided a tailcoat would take up a bit too much time.
The pictures are taken on ALcon 2011 and Uppcon 2011. Where I met a lot of other Kuroshitsuji cosplayers. Both times I only cosplayed Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji as well as some from other series.

Black Butler Cosplay Contest – #81 Menglei Chen

Eh, well, i’m an 19 year old anime/manga fanatic-ish cosplay girl from Norway and has been cosplaying for about 4-5 years now. My first cosplay being Kanda Yuu from D-gray Man(If I don’t remember wrong….) I mostly make all of my cosplays myself, though there have been occasions where I’ve bought cosplays to modify to fit me and adding on missing details and such, but I rarely do that. Ranmao is the one cosplay I hold real pride in because it’s the very first female I cosplayed, ever. Not to mention it was a challenge trying to figgure out how to make the dress fit right, and not be too short in the back, which I managed in some miraculous way I’m not too sure how I did at this point. xD
I suppose this is enough about me and the cosplay? Any questions and such, it’s just to ask. I really suck at coming up with things to say/write.
About the pictures:
I’ve cosplayed Ranmao at seven occasions till now and have picked out the five best shots that I have available at this point. the first two pictures were taken at Uppcon in Sweden, 2011. We gathered up some Kuroshitsuji cosplayers and had a joint photoshoot in one of the larger parks in the city. The last three pictures(with the flowers) was from a cosplay meet in Halden, Norway, in september 2010(It’s quite a while ago I know) and the cosplay wasn’t entirely finished at that point. I was still missing the ankle bracelets and the yellow parts on the sleeves, but I concidered it to be finished enough to wear at the little cosplay meet since it was a very casual thing with most of the people coming not really cosplaying either. It was a bit dissapointing not to have a Lau there with me at both occasions, but there was a Sebastian without a Ciel there too so it wasn’t too bad xP I just recently remade the dress since my chest has grown a bit and the old one didn’t fit me anymore, but haven’t gotten a decent enough picture of myself in it yet, which is a real shame; the new dress being a great improvement from the old one.
You can easily find me on facebook under my name(and I’m pretty sure there’s only one with my name in the whole of Norway, so really, it shouldn’t be hard to find the right one), and the link above is my deviantart account. Feel free to browse through it, and I’d like to make a note that most of my stuff have been stowed into the scrapbook section ;3

Black Butler Cosplay Contest – #80 Mary Garvaglia

All of these photos were taken this past Spring.  The first two pictures were taken at NoBrandCon in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States. The third and fourth pictures were taken by my mom at our home and the fifth is from NoBrandCon. My “deathscythe” was actually my very first cosplay prop. (Not sure if you can actually see it, though.) The chainsaw is made out of a shoebox, curtain rod and ends, gorilla tape, crazy glue, cardstock, a fly-rod box, and foam coolers.
First, second, and last pictures are “normal red” Grell, and the third and fourth photos are Cheshire Cat Grell from Ciel in Wonderland.
I started ‘officially’ watching Kuroshitsuji, in January of this year. And decided to try out a few different attitudes. Grell Sutcliffe,.. Well, his outlook on life, his personality, they kind of got stuck to me somehow.  At least three times a day, I find myself wiggling my rear end like Grell, or I’ll do something that reminds me alot of him.
I chose to cosplay Grell Sutcliffe because not only is he flamboyant, he reminds myself of me a few years ago.  Completely useless at everything. Nobody liked me. Like Grell in the fist few episodes, I wanted to die. I enjoy cosplaying as Grell because I can actually be myself. Again, just like Grell, RED is my favorite color. I’m going to quote Grell on this. “Red is such a pretty color. It’s perfect for hair, for clothes, for lipstick.”  Cosplaying Grell for the first time, is like trying on a really demented looking hat, in front of someone. In order for me to perfect my “Grell voice,” I actually had to get sick, with Laryngitis, on the four hour ride to the convention.  The whole time at NoBrandCon, I could not talk. Whenever I tried to talk, it sounded like someone let a mouse free in the halls. It took me about two weeks to actually get my voice back, and when I did, I was very surprised to hear that when I get excited, I sound JUST like Grell.
Grell Sutcliffe is the only person I will cosplay from now on.

Hello I’m Meeltjuh, a cosplayer from the Netherlands!

When I first saw the anime Kuroshitsuji,I liked it, but it wasn’t until Alois Trancy was introduced that I really started to love the show. Alois is such a delicious evil and yet tragic figure, struggling so hard to find love and acknowledgment by any means, he instantly became my favourite character.

Part of the hobby of cosplay that I love the most, is making the costume myself, so of course this costume was also selfmade.

Posing for the camera also was enjoyable, because I could make a twisted smile all the time, which is awesome 🙂
